| | Making Inverted bandwidth friendly - Help needed! | Sat Jun 20, 2009 6:05 pm by invertedhat | As you've probably noticed, loading up Inverted after clearing your cache can be pretty annoying. The banner image alone taking up around 300kB. That's roughly 3 seconds on a good connection, not including render time.
Considering this, and the fact that there are members here that still have dial-up (my deepest condolences ), I made an attempt the decrease the size of the image while maintaining a decent quality. The file format is PNG for all images (and, no, changing them to JPG doesn't decrease the size by a notable amount as there is no transparency).
Any ideas? I was considering getting rid of the widgets on the forum page and only having them on the portal page.
