As you've probably noticed, loading up Inverted after clearing your cache can be pretty annoying. The banner image alone taking up around 300kB. That's roughly 3 seconds on a good connection, not including render time.

Considering this, and the fact that there are members here that still have dial-up (my deepest condolences ), I made an attempt the decrease the size of the image while maintaining a decent quality. The file format is PNG for all images (and, no, changing them to JPG doesn't decrease the size by a notable amount as there is no transparency).

Any ideas? I was considering getting rid of the widgets on the forum page and only having them on the portal page.

I have a question.
What happened to all stuff along the sides?

Trying to make the page load faster by cutting some content. All the stuff that was there is in the Portal page now, though.

Could just be my computer, but the posts are now to wide to fit on screen without bringing up a horizontal scroll bar.... any way to fix that?

A cache is memory from sites you visit stored locally on your computer (offline) to speed up your future visits to that site.

PNG is a type of image. Like a JPEG.

Widgets are little features of Inverted, like, say the chatbox, or the 'latest topics' feed on the Portal page.
